thoracic knowledge base, physical examination skills, and

discharge, and at home follow-up care.
The PA/ARNP will participate in the management of the post-op
surgery patient – specifically focusing on known pre-operative
co-morbidities, following extubation protocols, care maps,
and facilitating the timely transferring of patients from the
ICU to the floor unit. He/she would also oversee the initiation
of oral medications from IV drips and would be involved in
creative discharge planning (transfer to skilled nursing facilities,
facilitate early discharge to home) or more expedient discharging,
if required.
This is a faculty position within the School of Medicine.
While candidates with at least five years experience are desired,
training will be provided to candidates with fewer than five
years experience and an interest in thoracic surgery patients.
