AAPA Advocacy Alert: Ask your Members of Congress to Support the PA Profession -- Co-sponsor H.Res. 1600 (08/11/10)

On July 30, Reps. Betty McCollum (D-MN) and Lee Terry (R-NE) introduced H.Res 1600, a resolution recognizing the critical role of the PA profession and supporting the goals and ideals of National PA Week. All PAs are urged to contact their Representatives TODAY and urge them to cosponsor this resolution supporting the profession. At least 100 cosponsors are needed for the resolution to go to the House floor for a vote before PA Week in October. Please contact your Member today!

The resolution is a strong statement reflecting the profession's patient-centered, team-based approach to health care, and recognizing the critical role that PAs play in providing high-quality cost-effective health care to our Nation's communities. Urging your Member of Congress to become a cosponsor of H.Res. 1600 is an excellent way to raise awareness of the growth in and critical importance of the profession and the programs that prepare PAs to practice medicine.

Please contact your Member today, and urge him or her to cosponsor H.Res. 1600. It is easy to do: click TAKE ACTION below to generate a message to your Representative, or call the Capitol switchboard at (202) 225-3121 and ask to be connected to your Representative's office.
