Teaching Associate – ARNP/PA Department of Surgery, Division of Transplant Surgery

The Department of Surgery, Division of Transplant Surgery within the University of Washington School of Medicine is recruiting for two (2) full-time Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (ARNP/PA) at the rank of Teaching Associate on a 12-month service period (Jul 1 – Jun 30), with an estimated start date in Summer 2021. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service.

The successful candidate will be incorporated into the inpatient team caring for liver, kidney, pancreas, and intestine transplant patients. The Transplant Surgery ARNP/PA will provide comprehensive clinical care to transplant patients and donors in the pre-, peri-, and post-transplant phases of care along with core multidisciplinary team members. Appointments as Teaching Associate are normally structured per University guidelines as a 12-month term, followed by reappointment on an annual basis.

Requirements for PA include: current and valid state Physician Assistant licensure, and certification as a Physician Assistant or certification-eligible.

Requirements for the ARNP include: current and valid Washington State Registered Nurse licensure, current and valid state Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner licensure with prescriptive authority, Masters Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program, and national certification as a Nurse Practitioner or certification-eligible.
