Job Duties, including but not limited to:

  • Perform a general physical examination.
  • Collect and record, in proper format, medical and social historical data appropriate to the patient's condition.
  • May become the primary care manager for a panel of patients. As a PCM, will be the primary person responsible for the management of the health and wellness of assigned patients. Duties include:
    • Examination of patients, formulation of differential diagnostic plans, and defines and orders required diagnostic testing.
    • Interpretation of examination findings and test results and implementation of treatment plans.
    • Be trained in the documentation of and recommendations for aeromedical, occupational, and Personnel Reliability Assurance Program (PRAP) dispositions.
    • Determine need for consultation and assists in medical care and treatment provided at the direction of other specialists.
    • Approve/disapprove subspecialty referrals.
    • Answer patient telephone encounters with the assistance of clinic staff.
    • Provide primary and secondary preventive maintenance care. This is to include: annual Preventative Health Assessments (PHAs) for flyers and nonflyers, and routine Occupational Medicine evaluations and dispositions.
    • Recognize those more complicated cases, initiate treatment (if appropriate), and refer to a higher level of medical expertise for diagnosis and/or treatment.
    • Plan and initiate proper treatment within defined privileges and the scope
      of practice of the facility.
    • Identify and report those situations and individual cases which have public health significance and carry out effective control measures.
    • Clearly communicate to other health personnel, either orally or in writing, the findings, diagnosis, and planned treatment regimen.
    • Stabilize and manage patients in a medical or surgical emergency and/or transfer to physician care.
    • Determine appropriate means of evacuation of emergency patients, prepare
      patients for evacuation, and arrange for evacuation support.
    • -Perform the following blocks: Digital, field and Local Infiltration.
    • Perform the following procedures: punch, shave, and excisional biopsies of the skin; pelvic exams with PAP smears; knee aspiration and injection; sub acromial aspiration and injection; and simple laceration repairs. Other office based procedures may be supported but will not be required.
    • Maintain medical records in accordance with MTF procedures.
    • Perform deployment related health assessment services and mental health assessment services that comply with Department of Defense and Air Force health policy and guidance, to include required standards of care and clinical practice guidelines.
    • Complete all documentation of care provided in the MTF computer programs for which training was/is provided

 Minimum Qualifications:

 Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or above from an accredited college or university certified by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education of the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA).

 Experience: 

  • Must have experience within respective field within last two (2) years. This time can include clinical rotations, internships, fellowships, etc.

 Security:

  • National Background
  • Must be authorized to work in the US
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work site

 License/Certification and Training:

  • Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in any US state, territory, or District of Columbia
  • National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) from American Heart Association or Red Cross

Schedule: 

  • Monday to Friday; 7:30 AM -4:00 PM
  • Excludes Federal Holidays
